Greetings, Elleven Residents!

Please take a moment to review the following building and community announcements.

If applicable, please view attachments for additional information.

** Building Notice **

Food Delivery Reminder! –  The front desk staff has resumed sending food deliveries to the unit. As before, staff will call before sending deliveries to the residential floor. If you would like your deliveries sent to your unit without a phone call, be sure to update your guest list.

Face Covering in Common Areas Rule – Reinstated – The Los Angeles Department of Public health has issued updated guidance regarding wearing face coverings while indoors. According to the guidance, all persons will now be required to wear a face-covering while indoors. This means ALL residents, guests, vendors, and building staff will be required to wear face-coverings when in the common areas. These areas include – The lobby, elevators, garage, and residential hallways. This became effective on SATURDAY, JULY 17 at 11:59 PM, per LADPH Guidance. The Board adopted a rule earlier this year requiring the wearing of face coverings when traveling in the common area. This rule will remain in effect as long as there is a mandate issued by authorities. Failure to comply can result in possible enforcement action by the Board of Directors.

Construction Projects in the Building – We have several submittals for in-unit construction throughout the building. You may hear noise related to these activities for the next few weeks. Construction is permitted Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Note: Construction is not permitted on weekends and holidays. If you hear construction-related noises outside of these hours and days, please contact the front desk staff.

**Social Committee Events**

Dining Around Downtown Club – The Elleven Dining Around Downtown Club meets at a different downtown restaurant at 7:30 on the second Wednesday of every month. This month the club will meet at Strada Eateria & Bar, located at 825 W. 9th, Wednesday, August 18 at 7:30 pm. Your host for the evening will be Joyce & Dennis Fried. Please RSVP to Virginia Wexman at vwexman@uic.edu.

Elleven Lending Library Management has received a few books for the lending library, and the bookcase has been placed just outside of the garage lobby doors for everyone to enjoy. The hope is that this Little Free Library will bring a little bit of joy, and new connections with your neighbors. If you are interested in donating books, please contact management to arrange a drop-off time. We hope you can join the movement and share some books with your community.

FREE DVD Rentals for Elleven – Virginia Wexman has so graciously offered to loan DVDs to Elleven residents! Attached you will find a list of available DVDs. If any of these spark your interest, please contact Virginia Wexman at vwexman@uic.edu to place your request, she will then drop off said DVD at the front desk for you to collect.

City Council Redistricting Meeting (Saturday, August 21) – The City of Los Angeles is currently redrawing its City Council district boundaries through the redistricting process, which happens every ten years. If downtown is identified as a Community of Interest, it could be consolidated into one Council District. Currently, it is separated into three, separate districts – 1, 9, & 14.

On Saturday, August 21 at 10 am the City of Los Angeles Redistricting Commission will be holding a virtual public hearing for Council District 14. This is the downtown electorate’s opportunity to share their input and advocate for DTLA as a community.

Please use the Zoom link below to access the meeting. Also, in addition to attending the meeting, residents are encouraged to complete the Community of Interest Form. This can be accessed via the hyperlink. The BID has provided some talking points that could be used during the comment portion of the meeting.
